A series of public information events are being held to present Scottish Power Energy Networks' (SPEN) revised proposals to connect wind farms in Mid Wales to a new National Grid substation at a site near Cefn Coch.
Following a major consultation programme and comprehensive review of other impacts, including environmental and technical considerations, SPEN has developed its project to provide opportunities to integrate proposed new 132kV connections into the existing electricity distribution network in Wales.
The revised project, along with details of the three preferred routes selected to connect wind farms to the National Grid will be available to view at these events. Through these events you can find out about the work undertaken to date and what effect the revised scheme could have in your area.
We hope to see you at the events.

In developing the route corridor proposals for this initial consultation stage, SPEN has been mindful of its statutory obligations placed on SP Manweb plc, the licence holder of the electricity network, to provide connections to customers when requested to do so, to 'develop and maintain an efficient, coordinated and economical system of electricity transmission', and to:
- have regard to conserving nature conservation and cultural heritage interests;
- do what it reasonably can to mitigate any effect which the proposals might have |
 |
National Grid will be present at all these events as part of their consultation process |
